VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

All children benefit when caring adults share their time and talents. Hightower Elementary has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. Some of these opportunities are in the classroom, some directly support the teachers, and some help to raise funds to purchase items for the school. What does a volunteer get from these opportunities? You will be helping the children succeed, strengthening relationships, and making friends. VOLUNTEER CRIMINAL BACKGROUND RENEWALS

PISD requires that all volunteers have a completed Criminal History Check and PISD Volunteer Information Form (must be notarized) in order to participate in any volunteer opportunity at PISD schools. Please log on to the PISD website and complete this process. Applications for the upcoming school year may be completed starting July 1.

Log on to www.pisd.edu, then click on "Volunteer Application" near the bottom of the page, or click here to go directly to the application. Follow the prompts to complete. At the end of the application process, a Volunteer Agreement form will print out. You must have this form notarized. School office personnel can notarize the form. Keep in mind that approval generally takes one to two weeks to process. A new application must be completed each school year. If you have any questions about the process, please speak to Joanna Yonker.

Volunteers who completed this form for the previous school year created a User ID and Password. If you do not remember these, simply click on the appropriate spot on the first screen of the application to get this information.

Upon completion of the necessary application, please notify Joanna Yonker at volunteers@HightowerPTA.org.

VOLUNTEER HOURS

It is important to keep track of the hours you volunteer. Whether work done in school, or projects taken home, all of your hours spent on school items should be logged. You can email Joanna Yonker, or put a note in her folder. Click here to print a Volunteer Hours Form.
