Agenda:
This is an organizational calendar/homework tracker provided by PTA
for students in grades one through five.
The agenda encourages students to develop responsible behavior with
regard to school assignments and upcoming obligations, as well as provide
teachers and parents with a written record of assignments. Banking
Day:
North Dallas Bank & Trust Co., in corporate partnership with
Hightower, provides a banking representative to accept deposits for those
students with an open savings account on a monthly basis.
Each student is offered the opportunity to open a no-cost savings
account with North Dallas Bank & Trust Co. during Hooray for
Hightower, at the school on the monthly banking day, or directly at the
bank. North Dallas Bank &

Classen:
Fifth graders are eligible to participate in the PISD sponsored
week-long outdoor environmental school at Camp Classen in Oklahoma.
Parent volunteers, as well as the fifth grade teachers and staff
members accompany the students to camp. Field
Day:
The Physical Education Department organizes a year-end event of
outdoor games for students in all grades.
Students
may purchase t-shirts through the Physical Education Department to wear
this day with the color coordinated by grade level. Paw
Printer:
PTA’s onsite book binding program publishes students’ stories
and illustrations, as well as teacher projects.
Students may submit books created at home or in class to be
published. Shoebox
Art:
Art project supplies are organized in “shoe boxes” and
available in the library for students to check out. Shoebox
Science:
Science experiment supplies are organized in “shoe boxes” and
available in the library for students to check out. Think
Bags:
These bags have brain triggered manipulative activities.
The bags are available for weekly checkout in the library. Grade
Level Coordinator:
A grade level coordinator for each grade coordinates the Book
Buddies, Computer Parent, and Workroom Parent schedules for the teachers
in grades Kindergarten through five. Room
Representatives:
Parent volunteers plan and organize classroom parties and assist
the PTA or grade level teachers when asked.
The Lead Room Representative acts as a group leader for the entire
grade and serves as a liaison between the lead grade level teacher and the
Room Representatives for that respective grade. |
